Need a hand?

›How do I join a game nearby?

One player taps Host a game. Everyone else opens Sooner or Later on their own iPhone, taps Join a game and picks the game from the Nearby games list. Phones just need to be close together with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on — being on the same Wi-Fi network works best.

›Can we play with only one phone?

Yes! Choose Play on one phone and pass it around the table.

›Why does the app ask for Local Network permission?

That's how phones find each other. Sooner or Later uses it only to discover and join nearby games — there's no internet server involved. If you said no, turn it on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

›Where do the music previews come from?

Songs play 30-second previews from Apple's iTunes previews, streamed directly from Apple. Availability depends on your country's store, so a few songs may differ by region.

›A player dropped out — what now?

They open the app on the same phone and tap the game again under Join a game — their cards are kept. If the host's phone drops, the game ends, so the host should keep the app open.

›What languages can I play in?

English, Swedish, Dutch and Spanish. The game follows your iPhone's language.
